I've thoroughly enjoyed listening to this CD. On Joi Veer's homepage, it mentions that Veer has taken inspiration from many classic singers and songwriters, such as Peter Gabriel, Graham Parker, U2, David Bowie, Elvis Costello, John Lennon, Petula Clark, James Taylor, Alanis Morissette, Goo Goo Dolls, Pearl Jam, Live, Soundgarden, Jeff Buckley, Dave Matthews and Coldplay. Listening to this CD, I can sense many undertones from these various artists. My favorite song on this CD? It'd have to be the first one, "We Are One". It's a highly addictive song, that repeats the above sentiment multiple times, with near-hypnotic results. Veer has teamed up with Armand John Petri, perhaps best known as the producer behind the Goo Goo Dolls, Six Pence None the Richer, and more, and Chuck Burgi, drummer for Hall & Oates, among others, also produces two songs. Veer's songs have also appeared on America's Most Wanted, the 2006 Winter Olympics, and more. His music has a great "beat" and the lyrics are really easy on the ears and easy to listen to. I suggest you head on over to Veer's webpage and listen to some of the tracks on "Pearl Diving", and perhaps even add it to your collection!
