Many adults wouldn't dream of stepping in the sun without protective sunglasses, so why let a baby go into the harsh sun unprotected? Most sun damage occurs long before the age of 20. These really cute glasses protect babies from ages 6 months to 6 years against 100% of UV rays. I tested these on a 14 month old. At first he wasn't too keen on the idea of these "things" on his face, but once we told him they were a hat (one of his favorite words!) he was all for leaving them on, and would not let me remove them for a long time. Each child is different, of course, which is why the makers of Frubi Shades have a "how to" section on their website. These shades are really soft and comfy. The frame is constructed entirely of foam, with Velcro closures in the back. The lenses are constructed of shatter-proof polycarbonate. Also, the glasses float, which makes them great for pool play. They seem to be very strong. Repeated tugging did not break the stitches or tear the foamy material. You take care of your eyes, why not take care of your baby's eyes? This may be the best $15 you ever spend on your baby's future.
